Ikuchijima is part of the Shimanami Kaido, a stunning route connecting Honshu and Shikoku via bridges linking Mukaishima, Innoshima, Ikuchijima, Omishima, Hakatajima, and Oshima, from Onomichi in Hiroshima Prefecture to Imabari in Ehime Prefecture.
The Tatara Bridge, connecting Ikuchijima and Omishima, is a 890-meter cable-stayed bridge whose stylish design blends seamlessly with the islands’ natural beauty.
As the sun sets, the bridge sparkles, treating visitors to a breathtaking view.
Getting there: From Hiroshima, about 30 minutes from Onomichi IC; from Ehime, about 40 minutes from Imabari IC.
