Along the deep azure waters of the Sanriku coast lies a breathtaking panorama.
One is Kitayamazaki, and the other is Unosu Cliff.
Both evoke a profound sense of the earth’s dignity and grandeur. Towering cliffs rising 200 meters (approx. 656 feet)stretch endlessly, overwhelming visitors yet holding within them a mysterious stillness.
Sharp rock faces pierce the sky, white waves crash relentlessly below, and the green of the pines offers a vivid contrast.
So serene, so majestic, these sights leave people utterly speechless.
Each cliff is a miraculous natural masterpiece nurtured by the Sanriku region, a landscape that seeps deeply into the soul.
Getting there: About 25 minutes by car from Tanohata-Kita IC on the Sanriku Coastal Road to Kitayamazaki.
